It is the first day of the London Collections: Men Autumn/Winter 2016 and it is 2pm in the afternoon, his show kicks off in the British Fashion Council venue Victoria house. The atmosphere is at a high, there is a sense of wonderment of what Mazhar's collection will be. The lights dim and the shows begins, the first model saunters down the runway.
Varying shades of Black is a continued inspiration and Nasir Mazhar wants his viewers to imagine a unifying darkness in a club of individual characters. As a simple means of tying together his experiments in shapes and textures.
Treating each outfit as a separate project this has given Mazhar the creative freedom. This is his consecutive season and taking such approach that inward focus has been strategical used as along planned change or the brand which is yet to be revealed.
Masseur has developed a distinct element of history in his work, drawing on one of the affecting elements of his personal story, Mazhar presents his Spring/Summer ’10 collection. This collection focused on his love of Garage and Dancehall. He drew inspiration from their core customs of dress and their authenticity and their representation Mazhar worked directly with talent from across all the sevens. This played an important part in this staging of his shows and presentations.
In 2012 for the London’s Summer Olympics opening ceremony Mazhir was chosen to design headwear., this was due to his desire to reflect and amplify the beauty of British nightlife.
